Sheri Byrd has been a part of the SMR team since 2012 and currently manages the Atascocita location. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2003 and from The University of Texas Medical Branch with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2005. She later completed more extensive orthopedic training at the Manual Therapy Institute and has been a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapists since 2015. Sheri is a board certified specialist in both Orthopedic and Sports physical therapy and is trained in Dry Needling and Emergency Response for the Athlete. She has practiced primarily in the outpatient setting focusing on clinical management of patients with acute and chronic orthopedic and sports injuries and has served on the hip preservation team since its inauguration. Her current interests include clinical mentorship and building alliances between physical therapists, MDs, and middle and high school athletic training professionals to return athletes to their full potential. When outside of the clinic, she enjoys working out and international travel.
