Courtney Alcorn, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT

Courtney Alcorn is board certified in both sports and orthopaedic physical therapy and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. Courtney is a dual graduate of the University of Florida; she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology in 2010 and with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2013. She then completed a sports physical therapy residency at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital followed by a sports and orthopaedic manual therapy fellowship through Institute for Athlete Regeneration.

In addition to serving patients in the clinic, Courtney also assists with treatment for student athletes in Katy ISD and serves as a site coordinator for clinical education and for the Memorial Hermann Sports Physical Therapy residency program. She is a member of the Memorial Hermann Knee Institute team and Hip Preservation Program.

Courtney is passionate about serving the athletic population. Her particular clinical interests include post-operative and non-operative lower extremity injuries, return to sport, and caring for adolescent athletes. She is also passionate about educating the community on preventative care for sports injuries. Courtney has been published for her research on knowledge of injury prevention strategies within Little League baseball. In order to enhance and promote optimal movement mechanics for high school athletes, Courtney has initiated and conducted injury prevention movement screens for several Houston-area high school teams. Courtney has presented on various sports medicine topics at the local, state, and national level. Courtney is currently an active member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Sports Medicine Committee and is Vice Chair for the Knee Special Interest Group of the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband, travelling, and trying new restaurants.
